You should make arrangements to have your application filled out in full prior to any interview appointment.  Download a copy by clicking on this link application packet.  If you prefer, you may come in and fill out the forms while you wait for your turn to be interviewed.  These forms must be filled out in their entirety prior to being interviewed.

We perform testing on a first come - first serve basis.  Therefore, you should expect waiting times based on the number of applicants in front of you.

In cases where you start working prior to these exercises, we shall retain the right to perform these exercises during your employment and determine your working status with us at that time.

The interview will consist of 4 exercises to test your skills:

  1. The first exercise will be to listen to your voice and diction (pronunciation and articulation) skills which takes approximately 3 minutes.
  2. Upon passing this basic skill, you will be asked to demonstrate your writing abilities by listening to an interviewer speak.  You will write as this interviewer speaks to the best of your ability, which again shall last approximately 3 minutes.
  3. After successfully completing the writing exercise, you will be asked to demonstrate your comprehension abilities.  You will be given a scenario to read. You shall be required to come up with questions, that you might ask, to obtain more information based on this scenario. Again, this shall take approximately 3 minutes.
  4. The final exercise shall consist of a combination of listening, comprehension and typing skills.  You shall listen to your interviewer while entering information into a computer via a program.  There will be 7 parts to this exercise which shall take approximately 8 minutes.  Speed typing is not necessary but knowledge of the keyboard is extremely helpful.

Upon passing all of these exercises, you shall be spoken to immediately regarding employment with us.  Your base rate shall be determined based on how you did on the above exercises.

Should you accept our offer, you will require at a minimum, a valid drivers license and a social security card to begin the employment process.  We will need to make a copy, so please bring these documents with you.  You will be required to fill out paperwork and should be prepared to stay until these are completed.

Our policy for working at MarketWise is to be available per the hours mentioned above.   Those who have issues with day jobs, traffic, or simply on time performance should consider this before making a commitment to us.  You will also be required to commit to at least one Saturday per month from 10:00am to 4:00pm.  You will be given a commitment schedule to fill out,  that you  can adhere to.  You will have the privilege of choosing the 3 days or nights you can commit to.  Should your request conflict with our needs, we may ask you for a different schedule.  You will also be given a monthly calendar to fill out in order to pinpoint any special issues you may need to address during your committed schedule.

Our policy is simple, show up for your work schedule unless we call you to cancel.  We have a policy that clearly indicates that we are not offering you a permanent part time position.  We employ at will.  Should we not have work for your committed schedule, we will advise you as such.  You should understand that there will be times during the year where there shall be no work.  There will be other times during the year where we may ask you for more hours if needed.

After you accept our offer, you will be required to train a minimum of 12 hours on the telephone before you will be placed on our payroll.  Before you work on the telephones, you will first need to attend a series of training sessions which will take approximately 2 or 3 nights of 2 to 4 hour intervals.  You may be asked to begin telephone work during or after your training sessions. Note, Interview sessions (which may last up to 90 minutes) do not count towards the 12 hour minimum.

Training you is an investment on our part.  Therefore, we implemented the 12 hour rule for those seriously considering a position.  Should you not work at least the minimum of 12 hours, you shall not be paid for any training or telephone work you have performed.  Therefore, please consider this before you sign on.  Upon completing the 12 hours of work (which includes training sessions) you shall be paid for all 12 hours worked on the following pay period.

Now that you have read the basic requirements, let me tell you a little about what we do.  MarketWise Inc., is a marketing research firm where we conduct surveys by telephone, internet, mail or by intercepts.  We also recruit respondents for focus group participation, where these participants meet a certain criteria in order to participate.  Focus group participants will voice their opinions about a subject thereby helping our clients understand certain aspects of their products or services.

That's all there is to it.  But know this - WE DO ABSOLUTELY NO TELEMARKETING.    You will need to speak with people on the phone, however, and will still need to understand how to deal with all types of personalities and attitudes. So if you do not like to talk on the telephone, again, please consider this before you sign on.
